The Craigieburn Eagles Division 1 Women's team has made an addition to their 2023 roster.

Demi Albon, who just touched down in Australia after finishing her freshman year studying and playing basketball in America, signed with the Eagles just before the cutoff date in late May. Albon attends Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, New Hampshire, where she competes at the Division II level for the Ravens. She finished her first year appearing in 21 games and shooting at a solid 37.5% field goal percentage.

The Craigieburn native attended Maribyrnong College and won a State Championship for the 2017-18 season with Diamond Valley. She was also an Academic Improvement Award recipient (2018-19), an Indigenous Leader (2020-21), and has made a National Junior Classic appearance three times. Off of the court, Demi is studying journalism at university.

Albon is an excellent addition to the squad — as a 4 player, the new signee adds height and strength in the front court for the Eagles. She has already hit the ground running at training sessions and has competed in our last two games. We look forward to her continuing to make a positive impact on and off the court for the remainder of the season.
